Our Work

What We Do

Care That Continues After Rescue

For an animal living on the street, rescue may begin with one urgent call, but bringing them to safety is only the first step. Many animals arrive injured, weak, frightened, hungry or affected by illness after spending days or even longer in unsafe conditions. Their recovery can require consistent treatment, nourishment, cleaning, observation and patient human attention. At Paws For Life Foundation, we remain involved throughout this journey, providing the care each animal needs as they gradually move from distress towards stability and safety.

Based in Kunjirwadi, Pune, we care for dogs, cats, goats and guinea pigs facing injury, illness, abandonment and difficult living conditions. Every animal reaches us with a different history and a different level of need. Some require immediate medical attention following an accident or serious illness, while others need wound care, regular feeding, shelter, monitoring or simply time to regain their strength and confidence.

Our approach is shaped by the condition of each individual animal. Care may involve ongoing treatment, nutritious food, clean and protected surroundings, regular observation and support throughout recovery. Animals that have experienced abandonment, neglect or prolonged time on the streets may also need patient interaction before they begin to feel comfortable and secure around people again.

Our Daily Work

Every Stage Deserves Responsible Care

Rescue And Emergency Response

Rescue And Emergency Response

Animals in distress are often found beside roads, near residential areas or in places where safe care is difficult to access. We assess the available information, visible condition and immediate risk before planning an appropriate response.

reatment And Rehabilitation

reatment And Rehabilitation

Many rescued animals require medical assessment, medication, wound care, rest and regular monitoring. Appropriate professional guidance supports their treatment, while food, hygiene and a calm environment help their bodies regain strength.

Feeding And Daily Care

Regular nourishment is essential for animals recovering from hunger, weakness, illness or injury. We provide suitable food, clean water, hygienic surroundings and daily observation. These consistent routines create stability and help caregivers notice changes in appetite.

Sterilisation And Vaccination

Sterilisation And Vaccination

Sterilisation supports humane population management and helps reduce future suffering among street animals. Anti rabies vaccination protects animals while contributing to safer coexistence within local neighbourhoods.

Shelter Fostering And Adoption

Shelter Fostering And Adoption

Some animals require protected shelter while they recover from treatment or regain strength. Suitable animals may later enter foster care or responsible adoption. Every placement should provide safety, patience and long term commitment.

Journeys Of Recovery

Real Lives Behind Every Rescue

01

Six Lives Left Waiting

Six young puppies were found after their mother died in a road accident. Without her warmth, nourishment and protection, they were left at a highly vulnerable stage of life. They were brought into safety and supported through regular feeding, shelter and attentive care. At the time their journey was documented, three had already found homes, while care continued for the remaining puppies.

02

Ogy Found Safety Again

Ogy was found abandoned with serious infected wounds that required medical attention and sustained recovery support. Treatment, wound care, nourishment and patient observation gradually helped Ogy regain strength. After recovering, Ogy was welcomed into a home, moving from a painful period of abandonment towards safety and belonging.

03

Strength Returned Through Care

A dog affected by tick fever and paralysis required prolonged treatment, nourishment, monitoring and daily assistance. Recovery came gradually as strength and movement began to return. Continued medical attention and patient rehabilitation helped the dog recover, showing how steady care can change the direction of a vulnerable life.
